If you are on Maui, this has got to be one of the highlights on the Island. Just to be clear: most of the time you will sit in a bus to the top of the Haleakala but you get great info from your Guide/Driver. Our Guide Bill was amazing! He was funny, had so much insight on all the important stuff and you could ask anything. That way the whole trip in the bus was very nice. But of course, you are there for the sunrise. It is amazing, an unforgettable experience. You can do this whole trip by yourself, of course, but you will lack the comfort of getting driven to the mountain in the middle of the night, you lack all the knowledge you get from your Guide and you lack the calm atmosphere in the restaurant where you eat. You probably also have the best spot for the sunrise. Absolutely amazing, probably the best thing you can do on Maui!
